Donations

Would you like to donate to the Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society? Currently, we only accept donations through our mail-in form.

Why donate?

We all know that money doesn’t grow on trees. If it did, one of the first
tasks BHPS would have completed would have been to plant our “Money Tree”
in the yard behind the Museum. But money trees aren’t real, and our
organization competes for money resources both in and out of our small
community. Fortunately, you can make a difference with a donation.

The Blakesburg Historical Preservation Society is committed to our role as
the caretaker of Blakesburg’s history. We are passionate about researching,
collecting, preserving, and displaying historic records, artifacts, places,
and structures that forever tie us to Blakesburg’s past. These important
and tangible reminders of our past provide a permanent kindred for us to
family members who are forever held in our memories and our hearts. BHPS is
not lacking in vision, enthusiasm, or ideas; our organization and its
wonderful volunteers and supporters are working very hard to establish the
historical legacy of the greater Blakesburg Community. But our constant
challenge is finding sufficient funds to meet our operational expenses and
protect our financial vitality while still working towards a stable future.

Here’s what you can do to make sure the Blakesburg Historical Preservation
Society will still be functioning and viable for future generations: make a
donation! A donation is like a vote: one vote alone doesn’t mean much, but
collective votes can change our world. So it is with donations: a dollar
may not seem like much, but many dollars collectively is a really big deal.
We need your help in collecting the dollars, one by one if need be. so
please, offer your support by printing and filling out our donation request
form. Then mail it to the address provided on the form.

We thank each one of you for your generosity, and we promise to use all
of our funds wisely as we continue this journey of capturing Blakesburg’s
past for the future.
